You Are Bidding on a "Lloyd's All Transistor Direction Finder Six Band Solid State" Receiver Model # 9N59B-37A tested in great working condition (AC and DC) .

I am the original owner of this radio. This radio was bought for me new (around 1969 I believe) and I have owned it ever since. This  radio was used originally to monitor police and aircraft comms way back when, it saw relatively little when new and virtually none in the years since. Now I need to pare down and I'm looking for a new home for this set. Its been properly handled and well stored. Very minor cosmetic wear. Tested functions work: dial lamp; direction finder (in LW band and to a lesser extent in the MB); all radio bands, all functions, and a working DF Level Indicator. Antenna is straight, solid, and holds its position. The plastic battery tube shows old evidence of leakage but it did its job admirably and contained it within the tube itself, battery compartment in radio itself is very clean. Tested (and works) using AC and battery power.

The left side of the radio has pull-up antenna and RCA jack labeled "EXT". The front panel has two mini-plug jacks labeled "EAR 1 & 2"; and DF Signal indicator. Functions: Dial Lamp Button; Tone; Volume; Push Buttons for bands: LW, AM, MB, FM, PB1, PB2; Tuning; DF Control. The rear panel gives access to  battery compartment. Accepts six D cells batteries (not supplied). Radio is solid and failry heavy. All functions guaranteed to work, very nice overall. Good Luck and Happy Bidding.

The Last Train from Hiroshima by Charles Pellegrino. Hardcover, published 2010 by Henry Holt Publisher. Brand new, unread will be shipped free by USPS Media Mail.

Henry Holt and Company has announced that it will no longer print, correct or ship copies of The Last Train from Hiroshima due to the discovery of dishonest sources of information for the book.

Synopsis
Historian Charles Pellegrino combines eyewitness accounts, analysis of classified documents and evidence acquired through modern forensics to create a definitive chronicle of the utter destruction wrought by the atomic bombs which America dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki in 1945. After first providing a concise scientific explanation of the bomb's mechanism and a distressing moment-by-moment report of the actual explosions, Pellegrino delves into the myriad of bizarre injuries and horrific effects experienced by the victims, which ranged from instant vaporization to the prolonged agony of radiation poisoning, with many other gruesome traumas. By lucidly reporting every hideous detail of this catastrophic attack, Pellegrino hopes to instill a permanent reluctance within anyone who might consider the future use of nuclear weapons.
